Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Name: Christopher Ethan Blake
Your photo-credit/PB: Johnny Depp in From Hell
Age: 31
Nationality: English.
Sexual Orientation: He doesn't believe in orientation. So both ways.
Allegiance and why: the revolutionaries
Social Status and/or Occupation: The money he has would indicate him to be the son of a lord, but his home and way of life say otherwise.

Brief physical description of your character: Christopher was blessed with a strong jaw, sharp cheekbones and deep brown eyes. His whole demeanor suggests a quiet man, with a gentle expression on his face more often than not. He holds himself well, does not bear the arrogance typical of most higher class men and there is a kindness about him which runs deeper than appearance.

Brief description of your characters history, including family::
Demetri: 27
Lucas: 25
Olivia: 19

Christopher Blake II was born to the rather eccentric and well-respected Lord Christopher Blake I, in the blustery winter months. Believing his son to be the only child he would ever have, Lord Blake showered him with gifts and treasures and paraded him around London as if he were the future King of England. Then, when little Christopher was aged four, his mother did the unthinkable thing of becoming pregnant again. Lord Blake was shocked and it was hard to tell if he was happy. He eventually conceeded that it must be a girl on the way, sent to round off their family just so he could lift his mood. But, when young Demetri arrived, Lord Blake lost interest. He continued to treat Christopher as if he were his only son, with Demetri something like a cousin, but even at a young age Christopher couldn't understand why that was and he began to look after his brother himself. By the time the third son was born, dear Lucas, Christopher was like a substitute father. Everything he received as a gift from Lord Blake he shared evenly with his brothers and the three lads developed an inseperable bond.
Even when their sister Olivia arrived six years after Lucas was born, the three grouped together and grew instantly protective of her, even though Lord Blake was finally interested in someone other than Christopher and treated her better than his other two sons.

Christopher's 20th birthday was the start of a ten year love affair. He met the incredibly pretty Helene at a social ball held in his honour, and though she was not as high class as his father would have allowed for romance sake, he consoled himself by striking up an instant friendship with her. For several months the two became close confidantes, each knowing a union would not be allowed and trying to make the best of their situation by becoming as close as possible without the romantic sidenotes. Though many believed the two to be engaged rather than simply close friends, when they approached Christopher's family enquiring about the wedding they were soon put to rights, in no uncertain terms, that the couple were just friends and would never marry.

It was hard on Christopher, being friends with Helene yet not able to act on his feelings. They had an unspoken agreement to never act on their impulses, for if they were to ever be married it would be too hard to leave their romantic relationship behind. Over the year they knew each other it was continuously difficult to keep their minds from wandering to natural, romantic thoughts. Christopher was becoming increasingly annoyed and was preparing to throw caution to the wind and propose, until one day Helene delivered a bombshell with Christopher believed had come all too soon. Helen had been arranged to marry a Baron thirteen years older than herself in the Autumn and move to Devonshire where she would start a new life away from London and away from Christopher.

Heartbroken, Christopher spent several days housed in his room refusing to speak to her. His best friend at the time, one Charlot Hillsbury, consoled him but reinforced his brothers' opinion that he was being foolish. At his friend's and brothers' advice, Christopher met with Helene to congratulate her and vowed to spend the summer with her to give her fond memories of him when she was living with her new husband.

The summer of his twenty-first year was the best and worst of his life. The two played like children, visited every show they could, stayed up until the early hours and wrote silly tunes to entertain themselves with. Lord Blake was furious that Christopher was wasting time with the taken woman, seeing his dreams of a successful eldest son slipping away with every minute he spent on Helene. To Christopher, it wasn't wasted. He was the happiest he had ever been. One fateful day, forty-eight hours before Helene was due to leave to be married, their emotions got the better of them after a heart-to-heart. As the afternoon drew to a close Christopher and Helene had their first and only kiss on a hill outside his home: their embrace was stopped by her father's call to return to the manor and it was the last time he saw her as an unmarried woman.

Christopher did not go to the wedding, though he had promised her he would. Over the next several years the two bumped into each other on random occasions and each time their friendship was still as strong as ever. Christopher was, at one point, engaged but his fiancée expressed that she wanted to leave him as soon as she saw his affections for her were nothing compared to those he held for Helene. He promptly released her from the arrangement, much to the dismay of Helene who only wanted his happiness. Every time the two met at a social event or simply crossing paths in London, the people around enquired how they had not married each other, for they were so perfect and alike in every manner! This only served to increase their unease at how unfair their families had treated them in the past and how cruel it was that they could not be together, though they compensated this fact by holding hands when they were alone. Helene grew older with grace and beauty but she never bore her husband any children. It was almost an unspoken fact between them that she had known if she could not have Christopher's she would not want any at all.

Helene and her husband went to France just before the Revolution began. They never came back. Helene helped a young Revolutionary escape the arms of the law not realising the importance or extent of the uprising which was happening in their midst. After being accused of conspiring against the French nation and being among the Revolutionaries, Helene and her husband were beheaded without a fair trial.

On hearing of Helene's death Christopher became inconsolable. He turned his back on the nobility he was born into and moved to a small yet comfortable estate in Surrey away from his family. Relations with his brothers melted down quickly, their confusion as to how their brother could just leave without a reason or a kind goodbye, but his sister knew and she supported him completely, however sad she was that he left the family home. His friend Charlot moved into the outhouses as a tennant to make sure he did not do anything stupid. Christopher's sympathies for the Revolutionaries increased over time: he believed the rich and noble way of life had served in his unhappiness, not allowing him to be with the woman he loved, and killing her in the end. Six months ago his father died, leaving him Lord Blake II. Two months ago he agreed to become a spy for the Revolutionaries, using his fathers money to bring the nobility to justice. His brothers are growing impatient: as Christopher is not living in the manor which was left to him, or living as a Lord should be at all, they are wanting him to give up his title and pass it to Demetri so that some good may come of it and it is not merely wasted on mourning for a lost love.

One or two plots which you would like to play out in the community::
I would love to see Christopher helping the revolutionaries more. Housing those who might be running from France, gaining intelligence, and possibly even housing those Nobles who are hiding only to turn them in in secret.

I would also like to see Christopher get over Helene and move on to another woman. Or man, really.

Are there any other characters you would like to see in the game? For instance, family, friends of your character?::
Charlot his dear friend, his sister and brothers.

[Salut! I'm about to join this community as a Marion Cotillard PB and I was wondering if you'd like to chat, perhaps work out a potential line; I'm looking for connections, as I'm a little bit scared of just jumping into a huge comm and swimming for my life!]
